Splinters

So you're interested in fighting back.

It would be irresponsible of me to withhold the fact that Splinters are susceptible to electricity and fire. It would be equally irresponsible to lead you to think you can just electrocute one and be done with it. Splinters are extremely difficult to kill. And once you try, they will be angry.

More importantly, though these creatures are not the people you once knew, are no longer people at all, any hope there may be to recover the humans who have already been taken lies with their replacements, and it dies with them.

I recommend a strategy of observation, analysis, and interference with abduction attempts, with deadly force as a last resort.

Because of the difficulty inherent in identifying Splinters, I categorize all seeming people into five lists: Effectively Certain Non-Splinters, Probable Non-Splinters, No Useful Information, Probable Splinters, and Effectively Certain Splinters. An alliance with a good techie is indispensable in gathering enough information for informed categorization.

Using this system or one like it, you can reduce Splinter opportunities to replace you and your allies in even the densest infestation.

It will be difficult to convince your friends and family of the danger of Splinters. Be prepared to be laughed at, ridiculed and avoided. Remember that their disbelief doesn't mean they aren't at risk.

Even where your help is rejected, through careful vigilance, you and your Network can ensure the continuing humanity of a sensible number of people. Choose your battles wisely.

The Network

This site is intended to help you resist Splinter infestation through information only and is not to be considered a recruiting advertisement. My Network takes every precaution against Splinter infiltration. Yours should as well.

If, however, in your efforts against the Splinters, your humanity remains verifiable and your skills useful... it is possible I will find you.
